As a long time eBayer and internet seller and a former main frame programmer-analyst I decided it was time to branch out with my own website. Several of my friends also wanted to have their own website stores, but didn't want to take the time and effort to learn how to do the html and other techy stuff that goes along with creating and maintaining a web store. So to help them and myself, I created a shopping mall that makes it easy for store owners to concentrate on their business instead of all the technical knowledge that goes with a website store..
The fees are affordable because I have every intention of running the site more as a co-op than a bureaucracy. My goal is not to get rich off of the sellers, but to concentrate on providing a high quality shopping experience for both buyers and sellers and a safe place to sell our products.
Not every applicant will be approved to be a seller. Approval will be based on the type of merchandise the applicant intends to sell and their experience in retail sales. It doesn't mean that novice sellers will be automatically disapproved. Novice sellers are welcome but they must provide the same level of customer service that my more experienced mall sellers are required to. Sellers who already have some form of retail business in the real world but don't want to spend thousands of dollars to find out if the Internet is the right venue for them, are very welcome to join our group.
Collectibles-Network.com is a fairly new site, so I try extra-hard to promote not just the shopping mall itself, but the individual stores within the mall.
Even though this is a new website, I am not new to selling on the internet by way of various venues.
